Source first. Style second.

SPC polygons and categories are the official Storm Prediction Center outlooks, redrawn in CH Weather’s graphic system. The weather and precipitation graphics use official NWS National Digital Forecast Database grids. Their presentation is ours; their forecast values are attributed to the NWS.

Rain-chance maps show a specific 12-hour probability of measurable precipitation, which can include snow or ice. They are not 24-hour probabilities, a percent of the day, or a percent of the map area. City labels on weather-overview maps show the daytime high and matching-interval precipitation chance.

Fall color maps use Explore Fall’s dated, published foliage-model estimates. They describe modeled color stage, not an observation of every tree, and no local peak date is invented.

These are scheduled snapshots, not a live warning service. Always check the issuance and valid interval. For current watches, warnings, and changing severe-weather guidance, use the official sources.
